Discus Fish and the Aquarium

You can make your aquarium more attractive with Discus fish. Discus fish can grow up to 6 inches. Discus fish being a tropical fish need soft water for their community.

Discus fish like to stay in the mid-section of the fish tank. They feel most comfortable in the the mid section of the tank. Hence Discus fish are said to be middle swimmers. Discus fish like to swim in groups of three or more. Discus fish enjoy each other’s presence.

Higher temperature is required for Discus fish. Therefore before you add other varieties of fish to the same tank confirm that they can survive the higher temperature. Make sure to make a provision of one gallon water per Dicus Fish. Keep enough space in your fish tank for Discus to swim around. Recommended water temperature for Discus fish is between 82 and 86 degrees Fahrenheit.
